This & That has been serving rice and three curries since 1984, tucked away on Soap Street in the Northern Quarter. It is family-run, homemade and one of those places people talk about with genuine affection, not just hunger.
The formula is beautifully simple. Rice. Three curries. In, fed, happy.
The current menu lists rice and three veg at £6, rice with one meat and two veg at £6.50, rice with two meat and one veg at £7, and rice with three meat curries at £8.
It is the kind of lunch that cuts through the noise. No faff. No nonsense. Just proper food, big flavour and a price point that still feels kind to people who work in the city every day.
If Manchester had an official lunch, rice and three would be right up there.
